Velo Cape Breton Bicycle Club writes "Mission Statement:

Velo Cape Breton is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization primarily serving all the communities of Cape Breton Island including CBRM. People of all ages and abilities are invited to join for Road Cycling Instruction Sessions, Rides for novice and experienced cyclists, Instruction on Touring by bicycle, week-end rides, short casual Evening Rides, Day Tours and Multi-day "supported" and "non-supported" tours
Velo Cape Breton funds are derived from membership dues.
Membership in Velo Cape Breton is open to all individuals who complete a Membership Application Form with signed waiver and pay the required membership fee.
The strength and activity of any club’s programs depend on successfully recruiting enthusiastic volunteers. "
